Roof replacement with a solar system on top requires coordination. The panels have to come down before the roofers can strip the deck, and they have to go back up (with new flashing and sealed penetrations) before the electrical can be re-energized. Doing this safely means shutting down the DC and AC sides of the system in the correct order, tagging out at both disconnects, and physically removing the panels and racking without damaging cells or connectors.
We handle the electrical scope: safe shutdown, DC/AC disconnect lockout, rapid shutdown verification, panel disconnection at the roof, and re-commissioning after reinstall. If your solar company still exists we're happy to coordinate with them; if they've gone out of business (common), we can handle the full R&R with a roofer we've worked with before.
After the roof is complete and panels are back up, we retest the system, verify Ameren interconnection is still valid, and get you back to full production. Most homeowners lose a week or two of solar production during a full roof replacement.

Usually 5–10 days for a typical full-roof replacement, depending on your roofer's schedule. We shut down and remove on day one, roofer does their work, and we reinstall and re-energize on the last day.

The interconnection agreement stays with the address, but we'll verify with Ameren that everything is still in order after re-energization. In most cases no new application is needed if the system is reinstalled as-is.
