Residential · Franklin County & St. Louis, MO
Buying an EV — or already drove one home and need a real charger? CAS Electric installs Level 2 (240V) EV chargers across Franklin County and the Greater St. Louis area — Pacific, Washington, Union, Sullivan, St. Clair, Eureka, Wildwood, Villa Ridge, and Marthasville. We handle the load calc, the permit, the panel work, and the install — for Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, JuiceBox, and any other UL-listed unit you bring us.
A Level 2 charger turns overnight into a full charge. A standard 120V outlet adds about 3–5 miles of range per hour — a 240V Level 2 charger adds 25–40. That's the difference between waking up with a full battery and waking up to a car that isn't ready for your commute.
The install is more than mounting a box on a garage wall. It's a dedicated 240V circuit sized to your specific charger (typically 40A or 50A), a run of conduit from your panel to the charger location, a properly torqued hardwire termination (or a NEMA 14-50 outlet if you prefer plug-in), and — critically — a load calculation that confirms your existing panel can support the charger without a service upgrade.
We install every major brand, pull the electrical permit, coordinate the local inspection, and test the charger with you before we leave. If your panel can't support the charger, we'll tell you honestly and walk you through your options: a sub-panel, a load-management charger, or a full service upgrade.
Level 2 EV charger install pricing depends on distance to the panel, conduit routing, and whether a sub-panel is needed. We provide a free written estimate after checking your panel. Service upgrades (if required) are quoted separately.
We check your panel capacity, measure the run to your parking spot, and confirm whether a sub-panel or service upgrade is needed.
We pull the electrical permit. If you haven't bought a charger yet, we'll recommend a unit matched to your car and amperage.
Dedicated 240V circuit, hardwire or NEMA 14-50 outlet, mounted charger, clean conduit, and a labeled breaker.
Local inspector signs off, we plug in and confirm charging speed with you before leaving.
Cost depends on how far the charger sits from your panel, whether conduit has to go through finished walls, and whether your existing panel has capacity for a 40–60 amp circuit. We give a free flat written estimate after looking at the panel — no hourly surprises.
Yes. Every Franklin County and St. Louis-area jurisdiction requires a permit and inspection for a hardwired Level 2 charger or a dedicated 240V circuit. We pull the permit and coordinate the inspection as part of the install.
Most 200-amp panels can — but a 100-amp panel or an older home with electric heat, an A/C, and an electric range may not. We do a load calculation on-site and tell you honestly whether you need a sub-panel, a load-management charger, or a full service upgrade.
Any UL-listed Level 2 unit — Tesla Wall Connector (including non-Tesla EVs), ChargePoint Home Flex, Wallbox Pulsar Plus, Grizzl-E, JuiceBox, Emporia, and the chargers Ford, GM, and Rivian ship with new vehicles.
Hardwired is required above 40 amps and is generally cleaner and more reliable. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is fine for 32A charging and lets you unplug the charger to take it with you. We'll recommend the right setup based on your charger and how much amperage your car can actually pull.
